Iran has launched a wave of missiles at Israel, sending millions of residents into bomb shelters as the U.S.-Israel war enters its sixth day. The Iranian government dismissed the claims as "absolute lies and psychological warfare in the midst of war". The U.N. Senate blocked a measure to halt the U.-S. air campaign, largely along party lines. This is the first time Turkey has been involved in the conflict, but there is no sense that it would trigger the Atlantic Alliance's collective-defence clause. The U.,S. Navy will escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz "as soon as it can", but is currently focused on the conflict. The Assembly of Experts that will select Iran's next leader has yet to announce its decision.
