‘We finally did it’: Barrow girls top Monroe Catholic to take 3A basketball title

The Barrow girls basketball team won the 3A title after defeating Monroe Catholic 56-49 in the Alaska State 3A Girls Basketball Tournament. This marks Barrow's third consecutive trip to the championship game. The win was a reward for the team's hard work, according to Barrow senior Aiga Unutoa. While Monroe Catholic initially led, Barrow managed to claw back the lead down the final minutes. The victory was witnessed by a crowd at the Alaska Airlines Center, with many traveling from Utqiagvik for the weekend.
