Security lines at Louis Armstrong International Airport have improved following days of long waits due to the ongoing government shutdown. Some travelers reported shorter lines compared to the past 48 hours, with some arriving three to five hours before their scheduled flights. The partial government shutdown is affecting pay for TSA agents and affects other departments including the Coast Guard, FEMA, Customs and Border Patrol, and the Secret Service. Lawmakers are yet to reach an agreement on DHS funding.
