South Korea coach Hong Myung-bo has dismissed concerns over captain Son Heung-min's form, stating that he remains "the heart" of the team. Son, South Korea's most-capped player and second-highest goalscorer, had been under scrutiny following a 1-0 defeat by Austria. Hong explained that Son started the game on the bench due to illness and that he was doing a superb job as captain. Despite not having scored for his club Los Angeles FC this season, Son responded to suggestions of a dip in his performances.
