The NFL is considering a proposal to allow for an earlier return to practice for players on the physically unable to prepare list for the 2026 season. Currently, players placed on the list must miss four weeks of practice before they can be declared eligible for return to action. The proposal requires approval from 24 of the league's 32 teams.
