F1's governing FIA introduces energy management tweaks for Japan qualifying

Formula One's governing body, the International Automobile ​Federation (FIA), has introduced changes to its energy management rules for the Japanese Grand Prix qualifying. The maximum energy teams will be allowed to draw from their hybrid power units during the grid-deciding session will be reduced to 8 megajoules (MJ) from 9 MJ. The change was unanimously supported by the sport's power unit manufacturers. The changes have been welcomed by critics who believe it detracts from the excitement of the race.
