Mendota man charged with Class X felony in Friday shooting

Mendota police have arrested a 28-year-old man for aggravated battery with a firearm, a Class X felony, which carries up to 30 years in prison. The incident occurred early Monday morning at a residence where an unidentified male was found with a gunshot wound to the leg. The man has since been treated and released. Police believe the incident stemmed from a dispute between individuals known to each other.
