NCAA's Baker to Auriemma: 'Hard to argue' against two-site format

The NCAA president, Charlie Baker, responded to criticism from UConn coach Geno Auriemma of the two-site regional format, stating that it is "hard to argue" that the formula is not working. He cited rising attendance, viewership, and ticket sales as reasons for the criticism. The women's NCAA tournament will move from a four-site format to two sites in 2023 and is expected to continue for at least five more seasons. Auriemanma has been critical of the format since its inception and has complained about its implementation of new baskets, scheduling practices and shootarounds that are not conducive to their schedules.
