Much-needed rainfall soaks Jacksonville and northeast Florida, offering relief from drought
Published on April 7, 2026.
Much of Jacksonville and northeast Florida has received much of the rain, which is expected to continue throughout the day, providing relief for drought-stricken areas such as St. Augustine and Brunswick. The rain has already fallen onto the beaches of Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Neptune Beach. Despite this, it is still not safe to burn anything, even though the rain has significantly impacted visibility. The weather is expected not to end the drought yet, but it is expected that it will merely maintain the dry conditions over time.
