A global poll conducted by Gallup has found that the desire to move to the US has dropped to a new low, with 15 percent of adults worldwide expressing a desire to live in the country. This is a 9-point drop from the 24 percent who chose the U.S. as their top choice between 2007 and 2009. The most desired location is from Latin American, Caribbean, and sub-Saharan African countries, with Canada ranking second at 9 percent and Germany at 5 percent. Seven Latin American countries accounted for the 16 countries where the percentage that named the US as their preferred destination fell by at least 10 points. Despite these changes, an estimated 900 million people worldwide would like to move, including about 134 million who would prefer to live to the United.
