FTC Warns Dating App User Photos May Have Been Used to Train AI Without Consent

Match Group, the company behind popular dating platforms such as Tinder, OkCupid, and Match.com, has agreed to settle a lawsuit by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alleging that it improperly shared millions of users' personal data, including photos used to train facial recognition technology, without their consent. The allegations have raised further scrutiny of how platforms use personal data. The settlement, filed in federal court in Dallas, stipulates that Match cannot misrepresent its handling of user data and must implement compliance measures under oversight.
