The Buffett Indicator, Warren Buffett's valuation yardstick, now stands at 227%, one-sixth higher than the 200% threshold he himself identified as the danger zone. The S&P 500 currently sits near an all-time record of 7,165, having rebounded from the selloff triggered by the Iran war earlier this year. This recovery has led to valuations reaching historically dangerous territory. Two factors contributing to this reading include corporate profit concentration at 12% of GDP, well above the historical average of 7% to 8%. The S &P 500’s price-to-earnings ratio now exceeds 28, two-thirds above the 100-year average of approximately 17.
