Maria O’Brien, ‘Protocol’ and ‘Matlock’ Actress, Dies at 75

Maria O'Brien, an actress known for her roles in Protocol and Matlock, has passed away at the age of 75. She also served as an acting coach on Days of Our Lives. Her television credits included Viva Valdez, The Love Boat, How the West Was Won, The Life and Times of Eddie Roberts, CHiPs, and More than 200 episodes. O’Brien was born in 1950 in Los Angeles and grew up in a Hollywood family. Her first onscreen credit was on the TV series Sam Benedict in 1963. Her father, Edmond O‘Brien, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and she testified before Congress about the devastation of the disease.
