Ashley McBryde's latest single, "What If We Don't," has been released by her new album, Jalopies & Expensive Guitars, featuring several elements of her past, including her pre-stardom work and old relationships. The song was penned by McByde, Terri Jo Box and Randall Clay, who died in 2018. McByrde has used an intense form of therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), to heal a high-school episode involving the death of a close friend in a car accident. The single was released in response to the self-help mantra of not letting old regrets hold us back, a self-proclaimed "Music Row Freaks" who wrote the song in 2015. The artist first recorded the song for her 2016 indie album, but it never received exposure and was never seen before.
