Police are planning an increased presence at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia, as part of a celebration of Atlanta's contributions to the FIFA World Cup. The Celebration of Soccer and Sound, which will include a livestream of the World Cup final and a live performance by hip hop icon Ludacris, is set to be held in the park. Neighbors are pleased with the increased police presence, citing the large number of people and the potential for a repeat of violence after a shooting incident at the park in April. Additional officers have been assigned to provide enhanced security for the event.
