‘FernGully’ Live-Action Movie Directed by Marielle Heller in the Works at Amazon MGM

Marielle Heller is set to write and direct a live-action adaptation of "FernGully," which is currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios. Heller will also produce the project under her Defiant By Nature banner. The film is also produced by Stacey Sher, Susan Ursitti‑Sheinberg, Jon Sheinberg and Matt Feige. The 1992 animated classic "Fernando" featured an all-star voice cast, with songs from Elton John and Jimmy Buffet.
