Leah Phillips, a stay-at-home mom of three children, was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer at age 43, despite having never smoked. Her oncogene-driven lung cancer was caused by a genetic mutation, which makes up about 10-15% of lung cancers typically non-smokers. Despite being told she had 12 months to live, six years later, Phillips has found no evidence of active disease. She credits her vigilant health measures and active lifestyle, including having mammograms, annual physicals, and skin checks. Despite her diagnosis, Phillips remains committed to her mission and is currently receiving targeted therapy.
