Deported man with murder-for-hire conviction admits to reentering the U.S., state prosecutors say

Mario Ramiro Aragon-Ruano, a man from Guatemala who had been deported several times, pleaded guilty to unlawfully reentering the U.S. He had previously been convicted of murder-for-hire and was deported to Guatemala in 2006. He reentered the US in 2007 and was arrested in 2008 under the name Jose Juana-Zapata. He was sent back to Guatemala a third time in 2000 and was convicted in Arizona in 2019 for illegally entering the country after being deported. He is currently facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
