JetBlue Airways is simplifying its boarding process to have eight groups instead of the previous 11. The changes, which come into effect on April 29, will include passengers with disabilities, those with the airline's highest Mosaic 3 and 4 loyalty status, premium passengers, and the regular public. The move is intended to make boarding more intuitive, consistent, easier to follow along at the gate and easier to hear and understand during boarding announcement. Active military members and those who need assistance for various reasons will still be given courtesy boarding. This move is part of a trend of airlines increasingly clamping down on "gate lice" as they combat early boarding.
