The Tampa Bay Rays held a community meeting to gather feedback on a potential $2.3 billion ballpark in Tampa, aimed at creating a mixed-use development while revitalizing Hillsborough College's Dale Mabry campus. The team's CEO, Ken Babby, stated that the project would be transformational for Tampa Bay and would provide a comfortable place where visitors could live. However, some questions were raised about funding, with Babby stating that the team will contribute half of the stadium and cover its cost overruns, while the county and city would contribute the other half. The mixed-used development is 100% publicly funded. The goal is to break ground in 2026 and open the new HC and ballpark in April 2029.
