New measles exposure locations have been released as Utah reaches over 600 cases of measles, with 602 confirmed cases in the current outbreak, which started in June 2025. The Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has provided a list of exposure locations, including the University of Utah campus, elementary schools, and preschools. Southern Utah has the highest number of cases, 256, followed by Utah County, 95, and the TriCounty Health District, at 69. Of the 602 measles cases Utah has seen, the vast majority (395) have been among individuals under the age of 18. The most effective vaccine against measles is the MMR vaccine, which experts are urging those who are not vaccinated to get the vaccine. The measles virus can cause serious health complications, particularly for those without the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
