The San Diego County Sheriff's Office has arrested 62-year-old man, Vance Smith, for allegedly involvement in a violent carjacking in early April. The alleged incident occurred when Smith allegedly attempted to steal the car from a man and a woman sitting in their vehicle in a parking lot, causing the woman to fall out of the vehicle. After running over the victim, Smith allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The woman identified Smith as the suspect and a subsequent search led to his arrest.
