Published on March 4, 2026.
Polls are open across North Carolina for Primary Election Day in Guilford and Forsyth counties, which will determine which candidates will represent their parties in the November general election. Voters who are in line by 7:30 p.m. will still be allowed to cast a ballot. Over 700,000 voters in North Carolina cast ballots during early voting ahead of the primary. In Forsyth County, tens of thousands of those votes came from Forsyth and Guilfords. The primary will determine who Democratic and Republican candidates will move forward to the general election, with registered Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated voters eligible to vote. Election officials have received numerous calls from voters about polling locations and eligibility requirements.
