Revive the draft for a fairer nation

Former Marine captain and combat veteran, Michael Scott, argues that Congress should reintroduce the military draft to make wars harder to start and more likely to be won. He argues that the current system of military action has been misperformed, with presidents sending troops into harm's way with thin congressional support, decreased public debate, and no endgame or strategy in sight. The draft would ensure that when we do war, we fight with everything our country has to offer and that decisions regarding military action should be debated and debated. Scott argues that military service is one of the few American institutions that disrupts social order and makes a country that serves together more closely.
