Severe Storms Possible Late This Afternoon and Evening

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across eastern Nebraska and northern Kansas, with a 20 to 40% chance of rain expected across the rest of the area. There is a marginal to slight risk for isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening in South Central and Southeastern Nebraska as well as Northern Kansas. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats, although the risk of a tornado is very low. The severe weather threat will return over the weekend with a marginal risk for parts of Central and Eastern Nebraska and Northern Kansas, potentially extending into early next week.
