U.S. Rep. Sean Casten ran for the Democratic nomination in the Illinois 6th Congressional District, where he has been dogged by pro-Palestinian protesters over his support for military funding for Israel and its attacks on Gaza following the Hamas raid. Casten defended his voting record on military aid to Israel, stating that he voted against packages when it was not tied with material for Gaza. His Democratic challenger, Joseph "Joey" Ruzevich, used shoe leather and social media to raise awareness about his campaign. Niki Conforti and Skylar Duensing were also vying for the GOP nomination.
