Kendall Wells is smashing records, redefining what a freshman can be for OU softball

Oklahoma freshman Kendall Wells has broken numerous records, including the program record for single-season home runs, and the NCAA freshman record of 30 home runs. She also surpassed the record held by Jocelyn Alo and Lauren Chamberlain. Wells, a true freshman from Bogart, Georgia, has become the most feared power hitter in college softball within three months. Her goal is to break the record set by Arizona's Laura Espinoza, who used an aluminum bat instead of a composite bat. Despite her struggles, Mike Candrea, her performance has been compared to those of previous generations.
