Longevity expert Peter Attia is embroiled in a dispute over stock options brought by late Jeffrey Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 facing federal sex-trafficking charges. Oura, which had previously focused on corporate governance and law disputes, is asking the court to rescind his stock option agreement worth between $25 million and $31 million worth of stock options. The company argues that it would not have allowed Attia to become involved with the company if it was aware of his ties to Epstein. The court proceedings have been transformed into a referendum on whether personal relationships can invalidate a multimillion-dollar equity deal. In six counterclaims against Attia, Oura alleges causes of action including fraudulent concealment, negligent misrepresentation, and unjust enrichment.
