A child has been arrested for murder in connection with the death of a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly protecting her sister during an alleged bullying incident at a Los Angeles school. The victim's family alleges that Khimberly Zavaleta Chuquipa was hit in the head with a metal bottle at Reseda Charter High School on Feb. 17 and was rushed to a hospital with severe bleeding, but she died in late February. The family has filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Unified School District for failing to protect students from bullying. Despite numerous attempts to obtain more information about the attack, the LAUSD has refused to share details.
