A generation of boys grew up on porn. Now, some young men want out.

A generation of young men who grew up with access to porn have become addicted to it, often through their smartphones and internet access. These men, who use porn as a coping mechanism for trauma and mental health issues, struggle with compulsive porn consumption more than women. Sex therapist Anthony Preischel credits the availability, affordability, and anonymous nature of porn for its earlier adoption among teens and children. Porn in combination with masturbation can trigger the brain's reward system, which can permanently alter its impulse control, pleasure and motivation. The behavior is particularly harmful for young boys whose brains are still developing at the age of 25.
