KMBC 9 and Hy-Vee are partnering to "Stuff the Bus" with a drive to collect school supplies for children served by Operation Breakthrough ahead of the new school year. Donors gathered at a Lee's Summit Hy-Viee on Southwest Ward Road to donate backpacks, classroom supplies and other back-to-school essentials. The donations will help provide students and teachers with supplies they can use throughout the school year, according to school bus driver Craylon Pittman. Bags filled with school supplies are available at Hy-VA for between $5 and $30.
