Airlines' CEOs want Congress to restore pay to workers, DHS funding

The CEOs of American, Delta, Southwest, JetBlue, UPS, and and Atlas Air have urged Congress to restore funding to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and support a bipartisan plan to pay federal aviation workers, including airport security officers, during the partial government shutdown. The CEOs called for the Aviation Funding Solvency Act and the Keep America Flying Act, which would guarantee a salary for air traffic controllers regardless of the government's funding status. This comes as Democrats refuse to approve funding for DHS due to its immigration practices. This is the third shutdown in less than a year.
