A wanted fugitive, Anthony Burquez, was arrested in La Junta, Colorado, after a short car pursuit led to his surrender. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was searching for Burquez in connection with two outstanding parole warrants. He was taken into custody on felony warrants for possession of a weapon by a previous offender and a parole violation from the Department of Energy. The police involved involved in the arrest also included the Colorado State Patrol, Rocky Ford Police Department, and the Otero County Sheriff's Office.
