A Triad man, Travis Sistrunk, 37, has been charged with first-degree murder and intentional child abuse in connection with the death of an infant in 2023. The incident occurred on the night of Dec. 8, 2023, when police responded to a call regarding cardiac arrest and found a 5-month-old infant with life-saving measures, but he later died. The infant's death was ruled a homicide. On Friday, Sistsrunk is being held without bond at the Guilford County Detention Center and is due in court on March 23. A 15-year-old girl and a 61-year old man from Burlington are facing charges related to child pornography. The investigation is ongoing.
