Dietzel warned that out-of-state roofing contractors often promise to cover deductibles or provide “free” roofs, which can lead to insurance fraud and subpar workmanship. He advised that a local company with a long history is more likely to stand by their warranty and don't pay until the job is done. The advisory also highlighted the need to report scams and stay vigilant to protect themselves.
