The third-largest increase in U.S. gasoline prices in the nation, driven by rising crude oil futures and the switch to more expensive summer fuel blends, have been attributed to the increase. The increase represents the largest single-day increase in the country since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2002. Nearly 30 states saw significant increases in gas prices from Monday to Tuesday, with Ohio up 23 cents and Georgia up 22 cents.
