Prosecutors have rested their felony money laundering case against Fort Bend County Judge KP George after more than three days of presenting their case. Special prosecutor Brian Wice revealed that prosecutors planned to call one more witness, District Attorney Fraud Examiner Betty Chi, but did not specify who it was. Prosecutors alleged that George stole $46,500 from his campaign in 2019, using the money to pay for property taxes, HOA dues, and a down payment on a new home. The defense asked the judge for a directed verdict based on insufficient evidence against George. George is charged with a misdemeanor in the case and is set to go to trial in May.
