Trump’s many threats of possible war crimes reach a crescendo in Iran

President Donald Trump has set a deadline for Iran to agree to a deal and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, potentially amounting to war crimes. If there is no deal, he will strike Iranian infrastructure sites such as power plants, bridges, oil wells, and possibly others like water desalination plants. The deadline has been delayed multiple times due to little evidence of serious negotiations. Civilian infrastructure can be considered a valid target if it has dual use for Iran's military. However, Trump has threatened to blow up some of Iran's power plants and possibly all of them. The United Nations secretary general responded by saying that such an attack on clearly civilian infrastructure was not allowed under international humanitarian law.
