Council Member Arrested Over Deed Theft Fight In Brooklyn

City Council Member Chi Ossé was arrested during an attempt to block the eviction of a constituent, Carmella Charrington, who is fighting to maintain her family home in Brooklyn. The dispute has been ongoing for over two years and Charrington remains in jail. Ossé accused the eviction as a result of deed theft and ongoing displacement of Black homeowners in the area.
