A mystery man known as "John Doe" has been charged with identity theft and passport fraud, but refuses to reveal his true identity. The charges stem from the identity theft of a Puerto Rican native who claimed to have lost important documents and identification papers 15 years ago. U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisa Cisneros ruled that Doe was a potential flight risk and ordered him detained indefinitely. Despite these challenges, Doe has remained defiant and is scheduled for court on April 3. The passport fraud charge carries up to 10 years in federal prison.
