The 3-part formula for building innovation in government

Eliza Erickson, director of permit, license and certification innovation for Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, has developed a three-part formula for building innovation into everyday processes in the bureaucracy. She believes that innovative ideas can be developed through collaboration, collaboration, and processes that allow them to implement, scale, evaluate, and replicate them. Examples such as a flower reuse program in the City of Philadelphia, where a pilot reused tulip bulbs to be planted the following season, were examples of innovative solutions that reduced waste without significant technology or funding. Many projects, such as the Permit Accelerator program, focus on internal systems that slow government work down.
