Comedian Bill Maher criticised the Trump administration for its second indictment of former FBI Director James Comey over an alleged threat to President Trump's life. The Department of Justice (DOJ) accused Comey of posting sea shells with the phrase "86 47," which they believe was a threat to Trump. Maher compared the situation to an assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, suggesting that the shooter was triggered by Comey's sea shells. The DOJ charged Comey with two counts of making a threat against the president and transmitting a threat in interstate commerce. Despite this, many have questioned the merits of the case, with some arguing that it is a misuse of the Department's authority to attack Republicans or former officials considered to be "enemies" of the Democratic administration.
