The Solana Foundation is positioning its network as the core infrastructure for an emerging "agentic" internet, where AI systems, not humans, initiate and execute economic activity. The foundation's strategy is focused on payments, with 15 million payments processed onchain from agents largely tied to machine-to-machine commerce. Vibhu Norby, chief product officer of the foundation, believes this shift could fundamentally reshape internet business models. He also noted that advances in AI are erasing long-standing developer barriers, allowing developers and machines to build across ecosystems more easily.
