Attorneys for the victims of the Florida State University shooting plan to file a lawsuit against ChatGPT, claiming that the suspected gunman, Phoenix Ikner, had constant communication with the artificial intelligence chatbot before the shooting. The law firm representing the victim, 57-year-old Robert Morales, is representing the family of Tiru Chabba. The chat logs reveal that Ikner asked questions about self-worth, depression, and suicide, but no indication that the chatbot responded to these questions. Court records show there are over 270 OpenAI conversations listed as exhibits in the case. The pending lawsuit against OpenAI raises questions about how people interact with AI.
