The City of Sanford is considering sharing some of the cost of the $200 million extension of State Road 417 to the Sanford airport. The project is being funded by the Central Florida Expressway Authority and will help alleviate congestion from existing and planned developments. The initial $25 million payment was made in February by the Seminole County Commission. Some have questioned the use of taxpayer funds on a toll road.
