Pittsburgh playoff skid hits 16

Pittsburgh's three major sports teams, the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins, have not advanced in the postseason in their last 16 attempts. The Pirates last advanced in 2013, losing to the Reds in the famous "Cueto" game. The Steelers have lost their last seven playoff games. The last time a major Pittsburgh pro sports team advanced was in 2018, when they beat the Flyers 4-2 in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, the city's second-tier professional soccer club, the Pittsburgh Pirates, won the Championship Cup last season.
