The United States has warned of "industrial-scale" efforts by Chinese entities to steal U.S. artificial intelligence systems and is exploring ways to hold them accountable. The allegations stem from alleged "distillation" operations to train smaller AI models off larger ones. The efforts involve use of tens of thousands of proxy accounts and jailbreaking techniques to expose proprietary information.
