Tehron Sheraliev, a 24-year-old Uzbekistan native, was arrested after fleeing from the scene of a hit-and-run accident in October that critically injured an 11-year old Brooklyn boy on a scooter. He was linked to the crash and fled to Qatar, where he allegedly ditched his car and embarked on a journey back to Uzbekistan. While he was on the run, he reneged on his surrender agreement and stopped talking to his lawyer when he returned to the U.S. He is charged with vehicular assault, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment. The boy, who was not wearing a helmet, survived the crash but remains on the mend.
