President Trump's pick for surgeon general, Casey Means, is under scrutiny from at least four Republican senators. The concerns stem from her medical qualifications, views on vaccines, and dubious advice she has received as a wellness influencer. These senators, Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Thom Tillis, may be enough to block Means' nomination from progressing beyond the Senate Health committee. Additionally, Means is a close ally of anti-vaccine Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
