Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet allowed a home run and a single off 20-year-old George Lombard Jr. during a 4-0 loss to the Yankees. Despite Lombard's performance, Crochet was otherwise dominant and was charged with three runs over two 2/3 innings. He also struck out seven times and threw 34 of his 53 pitches for strikes. In the sixth inning, Payton Tolle came on to relieve Crochet, with seven strikeouts over three scoreless innings. The Red Sox will rest before facing the Phillies on Thursday.
